Diwali!!!! The Festival of Lights....

Ahhh one of my favorite time of the year!!! Diwali, the day we celebrate when good made evil go back to where it came from. The Festival of lights, as its called, every one's in a happy mood, enjoying themselves, indulging in life for once.

Fire works all around in the sky, diyas decorating every part of the house, electric lights going bling bling on each and every house I see, every one is so happy, welcoming Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity into their homes... I feel really happy at this time, well because, i get a day or two off from work... as well as nice nice mithais and sweets to gobble up, as well as getting time to spend with my loved ones, family, friends, and who ever u like, you wish Happy Diwali, without any feeling of do i know this person? Kind of gets the ego barriers down, and gets the warmth of friendliness on top on every ones head.

Having the Puja finished in the evening praising Gods and Goddesses for their "Kripa" on our lovely lives is like almost a monotonous ritual for some, and for some its a very very religiously strict part of Diwali. All in all once its done, you're free to now get out of ur house and start with you fireworks, The Rockets, The Multi Star Fire Works, The Ear Drum Bursting Bombs just being a small part of it all.

Decorating your house is like a competition between the neighbours, the more lights you have, the bigger your chest swells with pride, "My house is the brightest" I would hear some of the people say, and I'd say... Are you welcoming Goddess Lakshmi or telling her to go out through your pocket when the Electricity Bill Comes... (in my head only though). Just kidding, its not like we decorate our houses like this lots of times in a year, just this once, everyones forgets about everything and gets in their top gear to beautify their house.

Well I had a pretty eventful Diwali, The first Sparkler I burnt in many years this time. FUN, and then had a nice time with friends in the evening....

Only Downside of this festival is the enormous amount of Air Pollution that generates during just one night which i guess takes its toll seriously on the climate for at least a week, though all the mosquitoes die as well... hurrraaaaaahhh.... he he...

Well I leave you with some nice pictures...

Later...
